Description
Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- Assist in the safe, efficient and courteous loading, seating, and unloading of guests
- Maintains lift station area and safe walking surfaces
- Scan tickets or ensure guests have proper lift access credentials
- Stop or slow the lift for safety / emergency purposes
- Performs daily pre-operational checks and inspections
- Respond to and report emergencies
- Monitor and maintain the operation of the lifts in accordance with applicable rules and regulations (Echo, State- CPTSB and Federal- ANSI)
- Participates in summer and winter preventive maintenance programs
- Participate in resort maintenance activities
- Ensure management is immediately informed on all unusual conditions, incidents, or system malfunctions
- Ensure all records are maintained and kept up-to-date including all mechanical and operational procedures, daily maintenance, operational logs, lift failures and incidents
- Maintenance of padding, fencing and signs on trails and race areas
- Assist with parking operations by safely and orderly parking vehicles in all designated parking areas
- Responsible for cleanliness of on-mountain facilities including restrooms
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements Include (but not limited to):
- Must have the ability to ski or snowboard proficiently enough to safely move from one station to the next up and down the mountain. Proficiency will be subject to tests and training from other Echo staff.
- Must have ability to verbally communicate, demonstrate, and explain concepts clearly to people of all ages
- Must be empathetic, patient and nurturing to students
- Ability (in English) to read and comprehend and write memorandum, correspondence, and reports
- Ability to maintain logs, reports, and checklists
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, students, clients, and other employees
- Must be able to regularly lift or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift or move more than 50 pounds, and perform other physically demanding skills, including standing for long periods of time and responding appropriately to emergency and other unplanned situations
- Must be able to work weekend and holidays, work effectively at high elevations, and function effectively in extreme cold weather conditions and in other inclement weather conditions.
Wage: $17.50 – $20.00/hr., Dependent on Experience; Eligible for an End of Season Bonus
